HISTORY

Progress was established in 1938, dealing in the farming sector. Progress Engineering Company was incorporated in 1947 to deal in metal fabrication and engineering products and has developed into a specialist contractor in building construction management and property development.

MISSION STATEMENT

Progress aims to produce buildings which optimise aesthetic form, client function, and cost effectiveness, in the context of social responsibility and environmental sustainability.

The two sole Directors of the Progress Group companies are:

PETER R HIRST

F.A.I.A., F.P.I.A. Registered Architect Vic., NSW., Registered Commercial & Residential Builder (Vic) Bachelor of Architecture (Hons.) and Diploma of Town & Regional Studies [Melbourne University, 1973]
Peter is Design Director, Town Planner and Project Manager with 40 years experience in public and private practice and numerous awards in both Architecture and Planning.
The dual qualification is not common and gives an edge to Progress’s excellence in its Design capabilities.

GILLIAN J HIRST

Bachelor of Commerce Degree [Melbourne University, 1974]
Trained Secondary Teachers Certificate [Secondary Teachers College]
Gillian is Business Manager and Company Secretary.

IRENE E HIRST

B. Architecture, B. Building, B. Planning & Design [Melbourne University, 2003]
Irene is a consultant with 10+ years experience in the private and publicly-listed sector. She has gained expertise and experience in property development and senior project management across all market sectors – residential, commercial, retail, industrial.

Select additional staff/ consultants/ contractors are engaged as required on a project-basis to ensure ideal skill-match to clients’ desired outcomes.
